With an impressive number of solo albums and collaborations to his credit, JESSE HARRIS is a prolific songwriter, having contributed to the careers of NORAH JONES, MADELEINE PEYROUX, SMOKEY ROBINSON, SOLOMON BURKE, WILLIE NELSON, EMMYLOU HARRIS and MELODY GARDOT, as well as having won an Oscar for best composer in 2003. The thirteen songs presented here were written by the songwriting duo featured in the spectacular Song Project initiated in 2012 (cf TZ 6004 and TZ 8331). All the tracks, save one new one, are set to JOHN ZORN's most luscious melodies, while PETRA HADEN's vocals radiate sensuality, wonderfully supported by JULIAN LAGE's trio, a meeting of delicate performers for whom HARRIS has also produced two albums.
