Raphaëla Gromes’ albums for Sony Classical have been praised by the international press and have all become bestsellers in Germany. “FEMMES” presents a unique combination of a topical subject with appealing music, excellent performers, and many unique and new arrangements. Many pieces have rarely been performed or recorded and are finally receiving the admiration and life they deserve. Some of the female composers are better known, such as Hildegard von Bingen, Clara Schumann or Fanny Mendelssohn-Hensel, but many others are not yet, such as the Italian Mathilde Capuis (1913-2017), Schumann’s contemporary Paulina Viardot Garcia (1821-1910), the Swedish composer Laura Netzel (1839-1927) or the French Cécile Chaminade (1857-1944).
