The unclassifiable talent of the UK indie scene makes a rock turnaround with PAINLESS.
Nilüfer Yanya returns with the release of her highly anticipated second album PAINLESS set to be released on March 4, 2022 via ATO Records/[PIAS]! Following the success of her debut album Miss Universe in 2019 and a highly noted performance at the Pitchfork Festival in Paris that same year, the young Anglo-Turkish singer now enters a new stage of her creative journey! While Miss Universe pushed boundaries to include a litany of styles, blending jazz and pop melodies, PAINLESS adopts a more direct sonic and lyrical approach. Recorded with the collaborator and producer of Miss Universe, Wilma Archer, the founder of DEEK Recordings, Bullion, the producer of Big Thief, Andrew Sarlo, and musician Jazzi Bobb, PAINLESS is an album that forces the listener to sit with the discomfort that accompanies life's greatest challenges, whether it be relationship breakups, loneliness, or the search for one's own self. A gem between rock and alt-pop that confirms the raw talent that is Nilüfer Yanya.
