Presented exclusively at the 2026 Cannes Film Festival, La Bataille de Gaulle : L’âge de fer stands out as the most ambitious French production in recent years. This spectacular historical epic traces the rise of one of the emblematic figures of the 20th century: General de Gaulle. At the heart of this work: a masterful score by Volker Bertelmann, the Oscar-winning composer (All Quiet on the Western Front) globally recognized for his emotional and immersive approach to film music. His score once again demonstrates his ability to translate historical tension, intimacy, and epic grandeur into an immediately identifiable musical writing, where string themes respond to the power of brass and percussion.
