The vision string quartet makes a grand return with "In the Fields," their first album on ACT after a five-year wait. This Berlin-based quartet shatters conventions: classical virtuosity, original compositions, and boundless energy, blending folk, jazz, rock, and improvisation. Inspired by Bartók, Ravel, and Dvořák, the album carves a unique arc where tradition and modernity converge. Joined by pianist Joel Lyssarides, guitarist Mahan Mirarab, and percussionist Bernhard Schimpelsberger, the quartet further expands its sonic palette to offer an audacious, vibrant, and timeless journey—proof that the string quartet still has infinite horizons.
