In 2015, the album Sprinter introduced Torres, the artistic alter ego of Mackenzie Scott, a young artist from Nashville, only 23 years old but already noticed alongside Okkervil River or as support for Sharon Van Etten and Hamilton Leithauser. With her rock energy in the grunge lineage of the 90s, we let ourselves be captivated by this journey into the depths of the self. An album that earned her recognition from the international press and opened the doors to the legendary 4AD label. Her third album Three Futures embraces ecstasy, desire and pleasure rather than self-denial, and unfolds this idea through immersive musicality. At the forefront are mechanical sounds: a slashed electro-pop energy, harsh gothic and industrial textures, and persistent kraut rock. In ten tracks alternating between weightless ballads and songs with powerful guitar riffs driven by her mesmerizing voice, Torres further establishes herself as an artist with a fascinating universe filled with a very particular sensuality and energy. Recorded between Stockport and Dorset, the American once again collaborated on this album with producer Rob Ellis, a longtime PJ Harvey collaborator already present on Sprinter, and David Tolomei (Beach House, Future Islands) for the mixing. In her own words, her album "is entirely about using the body that each of us has been given as a mechanism of joy". A new sensual journey awaits you!
