Released in 1968 on Blue Note, *Common Touch* once again highlights the saxophonist's groove and virtuosity. On this album, the artist surrounded himself with heavyweights such as Shirley Scott (Hammond Organ), Jimmy Ponder (Guitar), Bob Cranshaw (Bass), and Idris Muhammad (Drums). A saxophonist with a pronounced taste for R&B and Soul, Stanley Turrentine helped broaden jazz's audience. Far from the standards of a precious jazz only appreciated by insiders, his very bluesy charts made his jazz popular music.
