A selection of tracks from the GRM, a pioneering group in electroacoustic music. A pioneer of electroacoustic music and a laboratory for sonic experimentation, the Groupe de recherches musicales (GRM), created by Pierre Schaeffer after the war, directly or indirectly influences current electronic music. The kinship of production techniques gives these musics a common vocabulary: sound processing, analog and digital synthesis, looping, and other manipulations are used in a shared drive to explore sound material. This selection of tracks dating from 1949 to 2004 invites listeners to discover different directions taken by some of the Group's composers throughout its history.
