Moonback Stage describes the meeting in 2017 between four high school students passionate about music and festivals. Living in Tours, the city that sees young talents born every day, the fine team almost accidentally embarks on the sound adventure. Since then, they have released two EPs, Waxy (2020) and Jinxed (2023), which allow them to test their stage power and remind themselves that music is, above all, for them, a beautiful way to be together. While the composition is primarily the work of the two guitarists, it is through jam sessions that the collective takes over, forming a rich and intense magma of ideas. Drawing inspiration from Psychedelic Porn Crumpets, Lysistrata, and Shame, the band of merry pranksters writes the tracks for their first album: Echo Process. Contrasted, serving both emotion and sensations, this record will be released on April 4, 2025. The recording and mixing were entrusted to Christophe Hogommat (Mad Foxes, Basic Partner) and the mastering to Thibault Chaumont (Igorrr, It It Anita). Drawing from their personal stories but also flirting with societal questions, Moonback Stage experiments, keeping only the pleasure of having fun as a common thread. From Space Sympathizer and the invasion of aliens to Timber, which takes a disillusioned look at childhood, or even Echo Process and resilience, the musicians surround themselves with English sounds and Australian melodies, never parting with a good dose of new psychedelic rock. A finely crafted first album, already imbued with great maturity and fierce inventiveness. Striking details, attention to silence and the resonance of each instrument, Moonback Stage cares for, reassures, and comforts our already delighted ears. "A beautiful success, somewhere between the unbridled garage rock of Psychedelic Porn Crumpets and the groovy post-punk of Idles. A story to follow... and very closely!" --- Balances Magazine ---.
