Highly anticipated, "Junk" is not only M83's first studio album in five years. It follows on from "Hurry up, We're Dreaming" which, upon its release in 2011, propelled him onto the international stage. Hailed as Anthony Gonzalez's masterpiece and driven by the hit "Midnight City" (certified platinum), the album received a Grammy nomination as well as gold records around the world. Anthony Gonzalez has also been much in demand for composing soundtracks, creating those for the sci-fi blockbuster "Oblivion" with Tom Cruise and for the successful "Divergent" trilogy. Gonzalez's love for everything from the 80s is well known and runs throughout the album "Junk". However, in the pursuit of a fresh and timeless inspiration, Anthony went back to earlier decades, to 60s soundtracks or groovy 70s radio hits.
