Sensual, rhythmic and hypnotic: LOWLY’s new album Heba is unique and hard to fit into any box. The Danish band nevertheless describes its music as “noise-pop” thanks to the many synth and guitar touches that beautifully dress the soft voices of Nanna Schannong and Soffie Viemose. Heba, the album’s title, refers to the frustration the band feels at Europe’s inability to help countries at war and the people trying to escape them. So, while LOWLY is not a politically engaged band, its members still want to offer emotionally rich tracks and here deliver a delicate, melodic album. For fans of: When Saints Go Machine, Oscar, Pavo Pavo, Björk and wide-open spaces.
