Voted Underground Hero by DJ Mag in 2022, DJ and producer Lauren Flax has been an integral part of the Brooklyn electronic scene for two decades. On her latest project, Liz & Lauren EP, she teams up with Liz Wight from the shoegaze techno duo Pale Blue, whose sultry voice explores themes of love and isolation against a backdrop of Detroit house and acid techno. Sonically, Liz & Lauren EP seems to be a natural progression from Lauren's first release on 2MR, Out Of Reality in 2021, where she explored a more minimalist production style. Liz & Lauren EP is a passionate collection that showcases the artistic talent of both artists equally. It is an ode to the freedom to try things outside of their usual habits (DJing for Lauren, Pale Blue for Liz) and to collaboration, the fruits of which will surely be felt on dance floors in the years to come.
