With Back Home (1970), Chuck Berry returns to Chess Records after three years with Mercury and reconnects with the sound that made him famous, while anchoring it in his time. Driven by Tulane, a story inspired by counterculture, and its blues sequel Have Mercy Judge, the album blends rock’n’roll, blues, and instrumentals, showcasing a Berry still active as a songwriter and musician. Audiophile edition mastered from the original analog tapes, pressed on 180g vinyl, presented in a gatefold sleeve.
