In the beginning, there was "White Christmas" and Bing Crosby's Christmas albums. Everything else came after and can hardly compete with that success. Bing Crosby's signature song, "White Christmas," remains the best-selling single of all time, with 50 million copies sold. Composed by Irving Berlin, the song first appeared in Crosby's film "Holiday Inn." It won the Oscar for Best Original Song at the 15th Academy Awards. Its success is such that it topped the charts year after year, sixteen times in the United States alone. The same goes for Crosby's Christmas albums. These records, released repeatedly over the past 70 years, have accompanied many generations and have become an integral part of Christmas. Christmas without Bing Crosby, without "White Christmas," would be like going without a Christmas tree, mulled wine, or gifts. So, let's not even try!
