BALTHVS - the Colombian trio of psychedelic funk whose global sound has drawn comparisons to Khruangbin and earned them a loyal following on the festival and jam-band circuits - presents Transmutations, their very first live recording and their fifth full album. Recorded during the band's European tour in late 2025 and their Flesh & Soul tour, then re-recorded and refined with the precision of a studio, Transmutations captures BALTHVS's relentless energy on stage without sacrificing an ounce of sound clarity. It is neither a conventional live album nor a studio record, but a testament to a transformation: extended jams, raw Latin rhythms, live improvisation, and reimagined classics, alchemized to give birth to something entirely new. Divided into two sets, the trio - composed of Balthazar Aguirre (guitar, vocals), Johanna Mercuriana (bass, vocals), and Santiago Lizcano (drums, vocals), accompanied by Vanessa Munoz - navigates through hypnotic fusions like "LSD In Bahia," the very danceable "Mood Swing," and "Shakedown Street," their love letter to the Grateful Dead, the band that BALTHVS cites as their fundamental influence. The result is an album that could only exist today, shaped by five years of touring and by the audiences who helped the band discover what their music could become. With over 100 million streams, concerts in 94 cities across 26 countries, and appearances at festivals ranging from SXSW and Austin City Limits to Outside Lands and Electric Forest, BALTHVS has established itself as Colombia's leading international alternative band. Transmutations is their boldest statement to date.
