Armlock’s debut album, Trust, made waves when it was released in 2021, offering a glimpse into the sonic landscape that Australian duo Simon Lam and Hamish Mitchell were building together. A collection of intimate and lush sounds that feel both haunting and profound, the seven songs of Trust are now available on vinyl. Simon Lam’s vocals are aimlessly mumbled melodies, placed directly in front of you at the center of these electronic dispatches that exist on the border of indie rock and electronic music. These songs are expansive, emotional, and thoughtful in a way that makes Alex G, Boards of Canada, and Adrianne Lenker apt comparison points. Trust is a collection of short but complete songs that lead perfectly into the follow-up, Seashell Angel Lucky Charm, released in 2024. Pressed on marbled vinyl.
