Banat vagabond songs

Description

Zsuzsanna Vàrkonyi was born in Hungary. Singer, actress, accordionist, she has traveled the world. Freedom meant being an actress in several languages and being able to travel the world, and share the culture of her roots by singing in bars, in the street... She has just finished her fourth album, Bànat Vagabond songs, recorded and produced by Philippe Teissier du Cros. This new album is like a travel journal. A poetic universe in which the traditional songs of her origins blend with her own lyrics and compositions. She writes and performs her songs in Hungarian, Romani, French or English. Throughout the album, there is an atmosphere of Eastern European blues. The songs are arranged by her group of musicians, Csaba Palotaï (guitars), Frédéric Norel (violin), Je Hallam (bass) and Sylvain Lemêtre (percussion), with whom she has been working and performing for 5 years. It is elegant music where rhythm predominates, and gypsy melancholy blends with more pop, blues or rock sounds.
