Approximately 4,800 years ago, humanity stammered its first poems and epics through the cuneiform writing of the Sumerians, in the cradle of lower Mesopotamia. Among these is the legend of Gilgamesh, the unjust and cruel king of Uruk. In this myth, Gilgamesh meets Uta-Napishtim in the desert, a man who has already lived a thousand lives. This man, Atrahasis, the very wise, the eternal, SunStare tells us his story, our story in Ziusudra.
"Ziusudra" (literally "Life of Extended Days" meaning "Immortal") is Noah's Ark before it was plundered by other, more modern religions. The Gods, weary of humanity, of its decadence, of its incessant noise, decided to destroy it at all costs, in order to find peace. Epidemics, natural disasters, wars, famines... Humanity saw its era end in great entropy: a ferocious chaos. Only Uta-Napishtim survived on his ark, alone, for centuries.
This third album follows the continuity of the previous two, more balanced, more varied in terms of rhythms and musical approaches. Each sound pulsation must hammer the listener, not leave them unscathed, or in any case, make them emerge differently from this experience. This album is to be considered as a monolith: each track being interdependent of the others, as each tells a different part of this epic.
Ziusudra is about accepting the inevitable, our mortality, our imperfection.
