Born from the ashes of Crown, the French band YOUR INLAND EMPIRE carries on a legacy of industrial coldness and post-metal intensity. The quartet combines the visionary talents of Stéphane Azam and David Husser with the rhythmic power of Nicolas Uhlen and Marc Strebler, creating a sound that is both cinematic and corrosive.
Their debut album embodies the "dark night of the soul": an introspective journey where light clashes with shadow, melody with roughness. Tracks like “There Is No Me” and “Grinding” channel dark pop energy with post-punk atmospheres, while “Edge of Perfection” veers toward the aggression of industrial metal. “Venom,” a menacing mid-tempo, underscores the album's central theme: venomous words and actions seeping into every layer of existence. Across eleven tracks, YOUR INLAND EMPIRE lays down hypnotic choruses, unleashes visceral riffs, and delivers raw lyrics reflecting years of turmoil, resilience, and transformation. Produced by Husser at La Grange Studio and mastered by Jaime Gomez Arellano, the album is sonically flawless yet unafraid to descend into chaos.
