White man are black men too

Description

The Scottish trio returns with a new album, with much more pop-inspired influences. A few months ago, YOUNG FATHERS won the prestigious Mercury Prize 2014. That is no reason for them to rest on their laurels, however. White Men Are Black Men Too is a decidedly pop album in its melodies and socially engaged in its lyrics, much like its title. Their first track, “Rain Or Shine,” with its shimmering organs, blends pop reminiscent of Metronomy and gospel vocals with hip-hop and psychedelic rock sounds. To record it, the band did not skimp on travel. They went through multiple locations, notably a rehearsal room in Melbourne, in London, but also in a cellar in Berlin and in basements in Edinburgh. An exceptional production for an exceptional album!
