Amen Brother / Color Him Father - Vinyle

Description

Accelerated by drum & bass producers, slowed down by hip-hop producers, the break from “Amen Brother” has become one of the most influential samples in music history. From N.W.A. to Oasis, from Slipknot to The Prodigy, via DJ Shadow, Aphex Twin, Linkin Park, Lady Gaga and Tyler, the Creator, artists from all backgrounds have taken hold of this mythical rhythm. Recorded in Atlanta in 1969 by the multiracial soul group The Winstons, the track was originally on the B-side and went almost unnoticed, before being rediscovered by DJs and producers from the late 1980s onward. On the B-side, you’ll find “Color Him Father,” a powerful, unifying soul gem in the vein of Curtis Mayfield, just as essential. Long reserved for direct sales, this special colored vinyl edition is now available for the very first time from all record stores.
