'1184', WINDIR's third album released in 2001, marked a change in style from its predecessors.
While the album is still deeply rooted in black metal with a heavy atmosphere, Valfar and his companion Hvall began experimenting with electronic influences here. For this reason, the album received mixed reactions upon its release.
Today, 20 years after its original release, '1184' is considered the album that pushed WINDIR to new creative heights and is regarded by many fans as their best work.
