Band of brothers

Description

The highly anticipated successor to "To All The Girls" (Willie's first album to reach the top 10 sales in the United States in over 30 years, released in October 2013), "Band of Brothers" is the first album by the pop/country icon mainly composed of original songs since "Spirit" in 1996. "I was struck by a kind of sudden urge to write," he explained recently. "It felt good to write again." The influential songwriter - whose early successes brought together pop and country with unforgettable standards such as "Crazy" (performed by Patsy Cline), "Hello Walls" (Faron Young), "Funny How Time Slips Away" (Billy Walker), "Night Life" (Ray Price), and many others - has completed his repertoire with nine new essential tracks. "Band of Brothers," one of Willie's most personal albums to date, ranges from introspection ("The Wall" and "Send Me A Picture") to very joyful tracks ("Wives and Girlfriends" and "Used To Her"). Band of Brothers is complemented by five tracks written by other artists that perfectly blend with the sound and themes of the album. Among these songs, Willie performs "Whenever You Come Around" by Vince Gill, "The Git Go" by Billy Joe Shaver (and in duet with Jamey Johnson) and "Songwriter," a title that makes sense, written by Gordie Sampson and Bill Anderson.
