The ninth volume of the complete works for organ by Giovanni Morandi sheds light on the composer's late career, when writing for the organi moderni reaches a mature balance between liturgical function, formal clarity, and editorial awareness. The Undicesima and Dodicesima raccolta gathered here reveal music constructed from recognizable modules, with a sober nobility and finely judged timbral intelligence, designed for the rite but never lacking in artistic dignity. The project generates additional interest through its dialogue with the Zavarise organ of 1802 and by including, as a musical bonus, the unique Pastorale del mantice. The preserved page discovered inside the instrument's bellows is a small revelation of the material memory of the tradition.
