Indigo is a cyborg world, using the mechanisms of humanity with the precision of technology to create the classic and crystalline sound that Jack Tatum has sought throughout his career. On one hand, Indigo is a return to his beginnings, the album Gemini released in 2010, and on the other, the culmination of paths traveled, of lessons learned while creating his two subsequent albums, Nocturne and Life of Pause. To realize Indigo, Jack confronted the dichotomy of Man vs Machine by capturing the surrounding synergy. In his studio, he wrote snippets of songs on guitar, on keyboards, with programming – depending on his inspiration of the day. Sticking to his routine, he created a collection of very detailed demos, with the idea of recording the album quickly with a band in the studio – struggling against the trend of the more brutal sound of his peers – true to the clear and bright sound inspired by the 80s. To help him realize his vision, Jack surrounded himself with exceptional artists like Cam Allen on drums and Benji Lysaght on guitar, as well as producer Jorge Elbrecht (Ariel Pink, Gang Gang Dance, Japanese Breakfast).
