Following a move to Austin, it didn't take long for Whitney Rose to fall in love with Texas. *South Texas Suite* is actually a meticulous study of sound and space, but also of unexpected circumstances for the artist who has toured with Sam Outlaw. Impressed by the welcoming and warm atmosphere of Austin and its musical community, it only took her 2 days to record *South Texas Suite* alongside a long list of seasoned musicians including, among others, guitarist Redd Volkaert (a former member of Merle Haggard's band and a Grammy Award winner), keyboardist Earl Poole Ball, who spent two decades with Johnny Cash, bassist Kevin Smith, and The Mavericks' drummer, Paul Deakin. Whitney Rose thus delivers a true love letter to the 'Lone Star State' in this deeply romantic, slightly nostalgic, and intimately personal EP.
