For over a decade, Connecticut trio When The Deadbolt Breaks has carved out a niche for itself on the international alternative rock scene. They are as comfortable in grind as in sludge or “soundscaping”, throwing out sharp riffs at a maddening volume. The band has always struck a balance between the harmonious and the dissonant: long compositions borrow from detuned sludge before venturing into melodic ambient "space rock" territory.
