Description
EN WORLD PREMIERE, THE VIOLIN CONCERTO BY POLISH COMPOSER LUDOMIR ROZYCKI PERFORMED BY VIOLINIST JANUSZ WAWROWSKI ACCOMPANIED BY THE ROYAL PHILHARMONIC ORCHESTRA. BUT ALSO THE FAMOUS VIOLIN CONCERTO BY TCHAIKOVSKY. It is a discovery and even a true revelation that the very talented young Polish violinist Janusz Wawrowski invites us to. He dedicated years to reconstructing the Concerto of his compatriot Ludomir Rozycki, a moving work composed during the tragic moments of the Warsaw Uprising. Wawrowski associates this resurrection with that of Tchaikovsky, whose Violin Concerto marks a form of rebirth for the composer, after the disaster of his marriage. The accompaniment of the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra and the quality of the recording at Abbey Road are superlative. The album 'Phoenix' by Janusz Wawrowski combines two life-affirming violin concertos, written during difficult periods in the lives of their composers: Tchaikovsky was recovering from his disastrous marriage and Polish composer Ludomir Rózycki was enduring the Warsaw Uprising of 1944. Wawrowski spent several years reconstructing Rózycki's concerto, long-lost fragments. "This wonderful work immediately struck me... Like a phoenix rising from its ashes, it should be reborn and appreciated by audiences around the world. For me, the concerto is full of the energy and life of Warsaw before the war, and I think Rózycki was trying to evoke that positive energy as he wrote in 1944... It reminds me of Gershwin or Korngold, while still retaining a distinct Slavic flavor." Wawrowski is joined for this recording by the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra of London and its permanent associate conductor of Polish origin, Grzegorz Nowak.Buy Phoenix at the best price
