Description

Wand regenerates once again with their most ambitious work to date: Vertigo. After the quintet Plum/Laughing Matter, Wand now emerges as a quartet (Evan Backer, Evan Burrows, Robbie Cody, Cory Hanson) with an album that has dark undertones, filled with tension, theatrical elevation, and lush orchestration. Determined to work backward (or at least from within) this time, Wand recorded Vertigo in their meticulously built studio, cutting pieces from over 50 hours of live improvisations and writing from their performances to reshape each track. The songs glide through beatscapes, soundtracks, and melodies found on anxious rock rhythms drawn from the ether and bursting into a new gravitational center. Vertigo was entirely recorded, produced, and mixed by the band, with strings and wind instruments arranged by Evan Backer.
