For latecomers, VSO (pronounced vessel) is a trio of friends from Nîmes, Alien, Vinsi, and Pex, already responsible for two notable EPs, where rap offered a virginity by trampling admirably on the codes and customs. Coming from a liberated generation, VSO was not afraid to mix influences to rise higher. Hip hop, pop, electro, the blending was free and wild. The trio cultivated paradoxes to tell their story without a net, diving into their intimacy, between intensity and raw emotions. It was exhilarating, dense, inhabited. "Adrénaline," the first album of 18 tracks (VSO admits to having conceived about fifty before making a drastic selection), is a very instinctive and well-crafted record, in which the group still does not hide but opens up to the world. An album that sings about life, theirs and ours, without mythomania or glitter, with disarming sincerity.
