The famous British vocal ensemble Voces8 paints a portrait of winter that breaks stereotypical expectations. Winter highlights a repertoire of Nordic compositions creating a rare and powerful soundscape. This disc is an invitation to meditation, inspiring a feeling of solitude and unity. Alongside the eight exceptional voices of the ensemble are many guests including the duo Mari & Håkon Samuelsen (violin and cello), drawing inspiration from Estonian, Latvian, Norwegian, Icelandic composers... such as Olafur Arnalds and Jeff Alexander. The album features four works in world premiere, including Winter by Rebecca Dale written exclusively for the ensemble.
