Split Decision celebrates the 20th anniversary of their first musical encounter, two decades after their inaugural stage confrontation. This highly anticipated new reunion marks the third installment of a fiery trilogy captured live in the heart of the legendary New York club. While the "The Battle" concert series in 2005 was part of the tradition of muscular saxophone duels, their second encounter, Friendly Fire in 2011, revealed equally intense exchanges, but with a sense of complicity. With Split Decision, Alexander and Herring achieve a form of musical détente: two masters respond to each other on equal footing, where "victory" is now a matter of taste—and not technical one-upmanship.
