OUR PLEASURE

Description

Vigon, born in Rabat on July 13, 1945, whose real name is Abdelghafour Mouhsine, is a Moroccan singer specializing in rhythm and blues, who emerged in the mid-1960s. He is the father of singer Sofia Gon, who died in 2011 of a pulmonary embolism. He has collaborated with artists such as Aretha Franklin, Rolling Stones, Stevie Wonder, Jimi Hendrix, as well as French producer Mounir Belkhir. A notable appearance on The Voice on TF1 revived Vigon’s career. And his participation in the trio Soulmen (Vigon Bamy Jay) put him at the top of the album charts. Still active and spry, he blends rock'n'roll, R&B and soul music with panache. Associated with the (Rolling) Dominos, he found a band suited to him, devoted to the same musical emotions. Vigon met Didier Marty (leader of the Rolling Dominos) during studio recordings for Jacques Barsamian. They discovered a shared passion for Little Richard’s rock'n'roll and rhythm'n'blues. But beyond their love of American music from the fifties and sixties, a simple and sincere friendship took shape. Didier Marty invited him to sing a version of “Blueberry hill” on the Rolling Dominos’ third album, and it was a revelation: Vigon’s voice and the band’s sound blend perfectly. The adventure begins at the Petit Journal Montparnasse in Paris with a tribute to Little Richard. Then they share the stage at renowned festivals. The sound of Vigon and the Dominos is rock'n'roll and rhythm'n'blues as we like it, wild and elegant, brassy to perfection and full of feeling, energy and love. They love it and gladly share it with the audience.
