With this new record b•records, the company Miroirs Étendus revisits one of the greatest classics of the Lieder repertoire by questioning the interpretative legacy that has long been associated with it. Pianist and artistic director Romain Louveau, baritone Jean-Christophe Lanièce, and soprano Victoire Bunel offer a multi-voiced Winterreise that disembodies the worn figure of the Wanderer and promotes the autonomy of Wilhelm Müller's poems. Like the Schubertian motifs that seem to appear on their own only to fade away, the musicians venture into a depersonalized interpretation that places the figure of the outsider at the center of this lyrical performance.
