"At the end of 2014, Véronique Vincent (the singer of the band Les Tueurs de la lune de miel/The Honeymoon Killers) and Aksak Maboul (Marc Hollander's project) complete Ex-Futur Album, a pioneering French electronic pop album that had been written and recorded in the early 80s. The album is enthusiastically received by the media. Also, seduced by this pioneering avant-pop opus, artists from seven countries produced 16 reinterpretations of the songs featured on it. The resulting album is titled 16 Visions of Ex-Futur and contains 16 reinterpretations. Covers and remixes created notably by Jaakko Eino Kalevi (the young Finn released on Domino), Marc Collin (Nouvelle Vague), Laetitia Sadier (the inimitable voice of Stereolab), Flavien Berger (the rising star of French electropop), Hello Skinny (Londoner Tom Skinner, collaborator of Grime, Matthew Herbert and Mulatu Astatke), Burnt Friedman (the eminent German electronic artist) Not forgetting the 2016 version of Aksak Maboul, in two self-covers recorded with members of Kasai Allstars and Aquaserge as surprise guests. A miracle of eccentric, offbeat and subversive electro-pop (Les Inrocks) Right on the pulse of the times (France Inter) Brilliant, bounding, astonishingly modern (Libération)"
