Description
"Welcome to Hell" is the debut studio album by the English metal band Venom. It was released in 1981 under the Neat Records label, at the height of the New Wave of British Heavy Metal movement. The music of "Welcome to Hell" is often described as speed metal, but it had a significant influence on the emerging thrash metal style, crystallizing the elements of what would later be known as death metal and black metal, and it had a huge impact on extreme metal as a whole, with the band being pioneers of the genre.
