Venom is an English Heavy Metal band formed in 1979 in Newcastle. Venom’s first two albums, Welcome to Hell (1981) and Black Metal (1982), are considered a major influence on Trash Metal and Metal in general; Venom’s second album proved so influential that its title was used as the name of the Black Metal subgenre, often cited as a reference by bands such as Metallica, Behemoth, Celtic Frost or Mayhem, they are one of the most revered bands of their generation. Sons Of Satan is a collection of the band’s early demos. This record contains 15 unreleased tracks from Venom’s formative years, from 1979 to 1983, new liner notes and interviews with Cronos, Mantas and Abaddon, and rare and unseen photos from the band’s early years.
