There's Only Black

2015 brought with it a solid revival of traditional metal bands. A chance meeting and an opportunity given to Tony Dolan (singer and bassist) to reform the lineup of Venom who had recorded the classic album 'Prime Evil' and solid follow-up albums that kept the band very much alive during the onslaught of Grunge and Brit pop that destroyed all but the most robust in the early 1990s, metal had suffered at the hands of the new trend, but Venom (with this lineup) refused to change or die and thus continued the legacy that had begun when Jeff Dunn (a.k.a. Mantas - Guitar) formed the original band in 1979 and brought extreme metal worldwide in the form of the albums 'Welcome To Hell' and 'Black Metal'. The albums primarily written by Dunn exposed the world to a new form of music pushed to the extreme and with a touch of darkness and a controversial smell, they raised their heads from the grave as if they had always been lurking and sowed chaos in a well-formed music industry. Completed by the voice of Clive Jesus Christ Archer and later by Cronos and The Demolition Man, the band was and still is a force of nature. While others try to take credit for everything related to Venom, the truth is not a hidden mystery but rather written on tablets like the Ten Commandments, but unlike religion, you do not need faith to follow Venom or their ideas and their music, but simply ears to hear. They sing "Somewhere In Time, We Were Born" ... and it has become their mantra. Today's scenes are full of examples drawn from this classic band. Images and themes and even an entire genre taking its name from the flagship album 'Black Metal'. The characters were and are still larger than life for fans but it is the music that carries the flame. The true inspiration for all is the dark and heavy atmosphere tinged with a touch of Black and Roll. Venom Inc started again in 2015 almost by accident and the name was not a choice but given by fans, agents, promoters, etc. In hindsight, it is just obvious that this band is true and real and carries the true spirit that began in 1979 and will end their days being that spirit that got lost somewhere over the years. It may be inevitable for a band to change or stray from its initial intent, but every legionnaire of the legions of Venom knows... their own moment that made them a long-time fan and it is therefore to this end that Venom Inc will continue to grow and perform the classics of the legacy with heart and soul and a true sense and will write with that same intention in mind so that new fans can also realize that a real band playing with all they have to give still exists and is still very important in this growing era of digital separation from reality. Venom Inc has toured continuously since its first appearance at the Keep It True festival in Germany in 2015 and has taken its brand of energy and performance around the world on numerous European tours, in Asia, the United States, throughout South and Central America, Hellfest, Bloodstock, Alcatrazz, Wacken are part of the countless festival shows, a special invitation to tour with Glenn Danzig and a special appearance at the Original Misfits show at the 'All State Arena' in Chicago, as well as special guests from The Metal Allegiance in New York. Among a list of other things, live is where the band truly lives, but now it is time for a new album and the writing has not stopped 2021, we will see the new album and new shows take the world in its arms and embrace it and it is of the dark and heavy soul.
