The pan flute is a wind musical instrument made up of a set of sound pipes assembled together.
It belongs to the group of aerophones, the vibrating material producing the sound is therefore air. And more specifically, since it is a flute, the sound is obtained by the breaking of an air blade on a bevel.
There is a great variety of shapes and spatial organizations of this flute in the world. The materials used are also very varied. But whatever the shape or the time period, they derive from a common archetype: a few reeds (reeds, bamboo, etc.) gathered together.
Pan flutes can be found in Europe, Asia, America, Oceania, and Africa.
