Since the release of her first album "Pushin' Against A Stone" in 2013, Valerie June has patiently worked in her garden of songs, nurturing them with care and love until they blossomed into a sumptuous new record, "The Order Of Time," set to be released on March 10, 2017, via Concord Music Group / Caroline International France. Some songs were born from seeds sown over ten years ago, while others matured suddenly when she least expected it, but each bears the mark of time. Deep down, June is above all a songwriter capable of breaking down the boundaries between genres and sonic eras. The result is a cocktail of folk, soul, country, R&B, and blues, undoubtedly her best work to date. Despite the musical eclecticism of the album, the songs form a coherent whole, partly because they are linked by June's unique voice, and because they are pieces of a broader reflection on the passage of time and how it affects us. June was ready when it was time to harvest these songs. In the garden, as in life, there is a time for everything, and the moment has finally come to savor the fruits of her labor.
