Intégrale de l’œuvre pour piano

Description

This 16-CD set brings together all of Haydn’s works for piano: the piano concertos, the sonatas and the Klavierstücke. All the performances are on pianoforte, the historical instrument Haydn knew and on which he played and developed his own very personal style. Here we have perfect examples of Viennese classical keyboard writing, while still retaining Haydn’s uniquely brilliant character. One delights in the unexpected turns and twists with a true sense of sincerity, avoiding lyrical drama, but all the more vividly felt. The pianists featured in this box set are Bart van Oort, Jolande Violante, Stanley Hoogland, RikoFukuda, Yoshiko Kojima and Ursula Dütschler, artists specialized in performance on historical instruments and in the appropriate style of “authentic period performance practice.”
