The music of the five-member band Ultha, from Cologne, Germany, can be described as a hybrid of moody black metal, doom, and darkwave. Their latest album "All That Has Never Been True" (2022) is a truly emotional and captivating journey. Where a bubbling nihilism has always raged in their work, feelings of pressure, despair, but also clarity and resignation rise to the surface. Ultha's lyrics do not follow classic metal clichés but ruminate on the darkness and sadness of our human struggle to find happiness and get lost in its failures. Four tracks from this fantastic blackgaze/atmospheric black metal album are now featured on the live album "Live At Soulcrusher 2022," whose opening track "Forever Always Comes To An End" is the first song from the album "Floors Of Heaven," released in 2020. The concert at the Soulcrusher Festival in Nijmegen was multi-track recorded and mixed by Andreas Roszyk.
