Tin Iso And The Dawn

Description

Through the arc of Tin Iso and the Dawn, the four-part epiphanic journey of Tristan Allen, the New York composer and puppeteer, brings to life a fantastical realm of characters whose universal desires reflect our own. In the first installment of this mythical trilogy, a complex sound design and enchanting leitmotifs give meaning to loss and the beyond, amidst melodic fluctuations and dynamic sound design. Tristan has ceremoniously constructed the imaginary world of Tin Iso and the Dawn, loosely based on Wagner's three-act opera, Tristan und Isolde. Composed and recorded between 2015 and 2022 in Boston and Brooklyn, with field recordings from evocative locations for the composer: upstate New York, Quebec, and Japan, each moment of Tin Iso shines with a nostalgic immediacy and the foresight of new journeys underway. By composing for acoustic instruments, arranging and electronically processing the music, and performing it using puppets, Tristan has emerged as the project that could finally satisfy his desire to consolidate and unify very diverse musical interests and an unwavering fascination with fantasy and myth. For fans of Penguin Cafe Orchestra, Nuno Canavarro, Kara-Lis Coverdale, Bing & Ruth, Oliver Coates, Flore Laurentienne.
