Symphonic and lyrical composer, Georges Bizet (1838-1875) was also a piano virtuoso for whom he left a series of major works. This disc brings together several of his pieces and transcriptions for piano as well as arrangements of his works made by other musicians. These "wordless" pieces, inspired by the art of his contemporaries, Romantic Germany, the East, or the Venetian gondolas, reveal all the subtlety of his writing and melodies intended for the king of instruments of the 19th century.
