Trilogy - 3 CD

Description

At the dawn of a world tour that is expected to include France, the sublime trio of Chick Corea with his companions Christian McBride on double bass and Brian Blade on drums treats us to a new album, once again recorded live. This time, the trio completes the journey begun five years ago on a triple album across 2 CDs. Chick Corea once again opens up his impressive songbook, where the sixties covers from his solo albums flirt with reinterpretations of Return To Forever classics from the ECM period. It was in 2016 that our three virtuosos crossed swords and gave birth to this Trilogy 2, rich with their shared experience within the pianist’s quintet. At 78, the fiery pianist who cut his teeth with Stan Getz and Miles Davis returns to his first love, the piano trio, on a par with that of another of his heroes, Bud Powell. Dazzling from start to finish!
