With the release of “SCREAMERS,” TREPONEM PAL announces a thunderous return to the forefront of the rock and metal scene, with sharp guitars and captivating grooves. The band reconnects with its original ferocity while still surprising listeners with blistering tracks like “Out of mind,” “Too Late,” and the first single “Screamers.”
Marco Neves, their leader and a pillar of the alternative rock scene since the mid-80s, tells us a little more about the genesis of “SCREAMERS”: “We started writing and recording with Didier, Polak, and JP Mathieu with a very groove-oriented approach, also seeking to rediscover the primary DNA of the early Treponem Pal, 'Aggravation' and 'Excess & Overdrive.' We focused on hardcore/metal tendencies ('Out of mind,' 'Screamers,' 'Earthquake'), industrial ('Too late,' 'Heavy Load,' 'The Fall'), and more psychedelic ('Cosmic Riders,' 'Psychedelic Trip,' 'Machine') sounds, and a few nods to reggae ('Badass Sound System,' 'The Fall').”
The beginning of 2023 also marks a new chapter for TREPONEM PAL, who have enlisted the services of Nicky Tchernenko on bass and Bastien Amy on drums, but also signals the return of one of the band's original members, the legendary guitarist Laurent Bizet, now alongside Polak.
Reinvigorated and more relevant than ever, the band is therefore ready for its discographic comeback.
All that's left is to close your eyes and let the sound of “SCREAMERS” wash over you.
