Outer Peace

Description

The new album by TORO Y MOI, aka the pope of what is called "chillwave," has chosen to perfect a unique record of absolute formal elegance, and above all, surprising. But rest assured. The essence of Chaz Bundick's art remains: the chromatic and silky compositions still delight the most delicate ears and caress the listener's dreams with the richness of their sound palette. Concerned not to be confined to a genre, the prodigy, who had distinguished himself as a master of the copy/paste phrasing, abandons samples here. This new album is funkier than the previous ones, groovier than what he has accustomed us to. The tracks glide on a distant groove, skillful and supported by a floating bass worthy of Stereolab. Behind the facade of indolence, an innocence troubled by a strange melancholy seems to hover over the tracks of this new masterpiece. Includes some prestigious features: ABRA, WET, and Instupendo. Available on CD, LP, and colored LP.
