Description

In the mid-90s, former soldiers of the Tamasheq rebel army who had fought against the Malian regular troops returned to their country, without their weapons, but with guitars and an enchanting Saharan blues-rock invented in the training camps of nearby Libya. This album is the first recording of these "ishumars" (unemployed), made in the studios of the only radio station broadcasting from Kidal, a town lost in the characteristic lunar landscape of northern Mali from which they hail.
