In seven days - London sinfonietta - Inclus DVD

Description

This is the second collaboration between the London Sinfonietta and Signum Classics; this recording brings together two works by Thomas Adès, one of the most distinctive and popular composers in contemporary composition (Diapason d'or 2013 DVD Lyrique for his opera The Tempest). The two works are accompanied by films directed by Tal Rosner and Sophie Clements. In Seven Days is a musical interpretation for piano and orchestra of the biblical Creation, composed in collaboration with artist and filmmaker Tal Rosner. The music and film evoke the process of creation rather than the objects described in the movement titles. As for the two-piano arrangements of Études Nos. 6 and 7 by the American composer Conlon Nancarrow, Thomas Adès wanted to capture the strange magic of the original works, where fragmented musical ideas are played against one another in a wild, almost jazzy way.
