This 3-CD anthology showcases the phonographic heritage of Brittany, highlighting the remarkable work of Hermann Wolf, a prominent producer from Quimper and founder of the "Mouez Breiz" label, who passed away in 1976. It offers a panorama of rare and forgotten works unearthed by musicologist Jean-Baptiste Mersiol, serving as a true testament to the Breton sound. It traces the path of old recordings of bombardes and binious (from the time when the transmission of instrumental practice was still oral), rediscovering songs by Théodore Botrel, as well as liturgical music and poems. The work of organist Gérard Pondaven and the first recordings of Alan Stivell, then a young harpist accompanying singer Andrée le Gouil, are also featured. Finally, the third CD is dedicated to the magnificent forgotten "folk" singer Éliane Pronost. A diverse collection of musical colors that expresses the full richness of this almost insular culture.
